Laniakea Beach

Laniakea Beach also known as the Turtle Beach offers an excellent opportunity for holiday lovers looking to surf and relax.

The beach is located on Oahu’s North Shore and is popular for its green sea turtles sprawled on the beach. The sea turtles come to the beach to feed on the seaweed that grow on the rocks along the beach.

The turtles are however a major attraction for both local and foreign tourist on the island of Oahu. An interesting fact about the green sea turtles found along the Laniakea Beach is that they can live up to 80 years. Being cold blooded animals, the turtles often haul themselves on the beach to bask in the sun.

In addition to this, turtles are generally friendly animals which explains why they allow visitors to swim in the water with them. Laniakea Beach (Turtle Beach) is located approximately 1.5 miles from the historic town of Haleiwa.

The beach is not hard to find as there are always a lot of cars parked on the parking area near the beach. The traffic on this part of Oahu is heavy and visitors are often encouraged to be extra careful when crossing the 2-lane Kam Highway.
