Manawaiopuna Falls also known as Jurassic Park Falls, is located in the Hanapepe Valley in the south of the island of Kauai.
This privately owned waterfall was featured in the background of several scenes in Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film Jurassic Park.
Because it is on private land, getting there is nearly impossible without contacting a helicopter company. The reviews for the helicopter tour are almost always 5 stars as the experience will not let you down.
However if you are feeling adventurous and have been granted permission by the Robinson family to hike the muddy wet trail, be sure to bring plenty of water and set aside 4 to 6 hours for the hike.
The 400-foot falls is virtually untouched, as it pours off the mountain tops of Kawaikini.
