Polihale State Park is a 140 acre and 7 mile-long beach located at the end of Highway 50 in Kauai island. It is a hidden gem of the island, since the beach park is located in a remote area.
This biggest gold-sand beach in Kauai offers beautiful views all around such as amazing sunset, crystal clear water, incredible view of the Na Pali’s coast end, desert cactus, rugged mountains and 100 ft sand dunes.
Getting to the beach park is going to be a tough drive. Only four-wheel drive vehicles are recommended because the road is extremely bumpy and some area is sandy.
Polihale State Park is perfect for camping, picnic, fishing, long beach walk, swimming and surfing. Camping fees start at $12 per person per night and campfires are not allowed. Since it is located in a remote area, expect that there are no security personnel, lifeguards and cell phone coverage in this park.
